We have had eighteen hours of continuous rain here in San Jose. I really fancy the rain, but not when it comes down all at once like this. More rain has fallen in these past three days compared to the last thirteen months combined. Usually January and February we receive lots of rain, but this year, the news said we've only had 2.65" of rain.

There have been flooding in the Bay area, including mudslides, trees down, and roofs have caved in. Two chaps and two dogs got themselves trapped I reckon in Los Angeles, when mud and water moved really fast suddenly, but they were saved.

The worst has yet to come because we are supposed to be gettin' the heaviest amount of rain for the next 24-36 hours.

comments

Whoah. Last week was full of such delicious reveals and surprises. Thomas took me on a small cruise out on the Pacific Ocean featuring live music and fantastic food for Valentine's Day. Valentine's Day reminds me of Shakespeare - sex and love. We danced till the sun came down.

A friend sent me a link to Ellen Page's very moving and brave coming-out video at the Human Rights Campaign Foundation “Time to Thrive” conference in Las Vegas I'm positive you lot have seen or in the very least, heard 'bout by now. I was moved to tears. If you haven't heard it, here's a link: http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/entertainment/2014/02/ellen-page-gives-emotional-coming-out-speech-in-front-of-hundreds/

But that wasn't the end of it all! Naughty Dog also finally released their dlc of their single player content featuring Ellie and Riley from The Last Of Us!!!!!!! @#$$%^%&*#$%@#$)@(#$)@#*%)@#%@

Let me tell you lot why the timing of the two completely different events was almost too perfect.

Ellen Page was originally cast to play Ellie in The Last Of Us, before the role would be eventually given to actress Ashley Johnson. That's why Ellie's resemblance bloody looks so much like Ellen, and it is why she was gutted by Naughty Dog's inability to model Ellie differently after she chose to do voice work for another Sony game, Beyond Two Souls.

The significance? Without giving any spoilers away, I had been dreading this dlc because I feared I was going to cause a paradox in my story, and that's honestly why I haven't posted the next chapter. But to my delight and surprise, after adding into the story that Ellie is gay in order to create the Joel/Ellie pairing ((after also aging Ellie significantly and changing her to a him))...@$#@#%@^$*&$^&#^#$$@#$@&%^ it's CANON!!!!!!!!

@#$@@^&**%&(%^&$^(@()@)#&)@%)!)#)!*$)!#$)@%$)*@

It makes the ending of the story even more poignant now and even more controversial.

comments

Hildi asked me to post some photographs from my trip with Thomas, Phebe and Evelina to New Zealand. So, here I'm giving it a go. I reckon it may take me a few days to figure out which ones to share, but I think you lot will rather enjoy these.

Getting to Auckland was rather tricky. First, after boarding the plane in Los Angeles, we had to change flights in Sydney, Australia to take a quick detour into Wellington, before arriving at our final destination.

Evelina was particularly tickled by this fantastic display of Gandalf on top of the Eagles at the Wellington airport! :D:D:D

comments

This month has been extremely busy for me. I am finishing conducting a classical series in California featuring music from one of of my favourite composers, Johannes Brahms. I am also working on a new live recording of my album from my first play that originally debuted in New Hampshire, my home state. Blimey! It is a lot of work, but it is incredible.

Right. Back to the point of this post. ink_gypsy's suggested on a previous post I may find many new icons for my personal journal at a couple icon communities on LiveJournal. However, sadly, she was correct in her statement when there was no Sean and Elijah icons out there that I could fancy. So, I set to find an image to create an icon with.
Well, this is bloody fun! I am now in the process of making a video featuring Frodo and Sam using the same song, Safe and Sound by Capital Cities, but this inspired me first. This video features some of the characters from the video game Last Of Us - Tess, Bill, and specifically, Joel and Ellie, which you lot would know as Sean and Elijah if you're reading my fic :D:D:D. This is a wee bit of satire as you lot know their story is not exactly 'safe and sound'.

You lot will be able to recognise some of the scenes I have included from my story in the video, including the sound effect I used in the previous video Thomas and I made featuring all the characters from The Last Of Us for Elijah's regeneration. I reckon it's safe to watch without it ruining anything.

Link to video here

Alternate link at Rapidshare if above doesn't work

comments

Thomas and I worked together on creating another project last weekend along the lines of bringing the Last of Us fic to life. There are rumours going 'round there may be a Last of Us movie, and course I know who I would want to see in the lead roles :D:D:D.

With Thomas's help, I created a video using photographs, and small quotes said by the actors from the game. Even Sean and Elijah help lent their voices. I intend on using each of those quotes said by the characters in the video in my story. The song in the background is the theme from the game called The Last Of Us by Gustavo Santaolalla. I created the sound pieces in MixPad, and Thomas did the rest. I am chuffed with how it turned out. It's a medium sized file because Thomas rendered the video in 720p.

Video can be downloaded here

Would you know BBC did an informational program called Planet Earth (I reckon a few years ago it aired in the US) wheres they talked about the same bloody fungi that inspired the killer fungi of The Last Of Us. Turns out...this killer fungi actually does exists in our world. And...it is remarkable how similar it is to the fungi in the fic/game, except, this fungi isn't capable of infecting humans...yet, anyway. Blimey! The photos I have found on bing are frightening, yet definitely helped my understanding why Elijah specifically is immune.

Oh, bloody hell, enough of me blubbering about it. You lot can have a look yerselves here and here.

comments

This is bloody fantastic! Just marvellous! I discovered this gem through a Yahoo alert.

Them lot at Iron Horse Cinema Productions created a fan film based on the acclaimed video game The Last of Us.

There are some very impressive shots. Good makeup, good locations, and the art direction all 'round matches the game excellently. And if you're following my fic, just substitute Sean and Elijah for Joel and Ellie :):):)

( Video behind cut )

comments

Whee! I just surpassed 30,000 in my Sean/Elijah Last Of Us fic. I am so chuffed! I reckon this is the most words I have ever written before in my writing career. Absobloodylootly, true! :D:D:D In fact, if this thing's to go 35 chapters, and it will no doubt 'bout that, that will mean I will have written 'round 80,000. Blimey!

comments
